Biography

Originally from Springfield, IL, I moved to Madison in 1990 to start college at the UW. Graduating in 1994, and after completing a stint in Chicago and in Boulder, CO (grad school), I landed back in Madison in 2001 and have lived here since.

I started my coaching journey in 2004, when I hired my very first coach. It was such a refreshing and transformational experience that, when the international franchise I was working with at the time decided to place a professional coach in every one of their offices in North America (and train them for the job!), I jumped at the opportunity, applied, and was hired. For four years I served as an internal corporate coach for that company, learning and growing my skills.

Believing in the power of continuing education and with an interest in getting ICF certified, I began seeking formal ACTP coach training in 2009. In 2011, I was awarded the Co-Active Professional Coaching Certificate (CPCC) from The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), and I quickly followed that up with applying for and earning my Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation from the International Coach Federation (ICF) that same year.
I started my own private coaching practice, working primarily with professional women seeking significant change in their personal lives.

Today, I am the proud Director and Lead Faculty Associate for the UW-Madison's Certified Professional Coach program (www.uwprofessionalcoach.com). While most of my professional time these days is dedicated to the continued growth and success of that program and its students, I also serve a small number of coaching and mentor-coaching clients  (I just LOVE coaching and can't give it up!).

On a personal note, I am married and have a beautiful teen-age daughter. My family and I also have a cadre of four-legged pals running around our house/yard. When I'm not coaching or teaching, my favorite things to do are reading historical fiction, dabbling in mixed media painting/art, exploring a new city/town, and sipping a cold beverage while boating on one of our many gorgeous lakes in Wisconsin.
