ICF Wisconsin Board of Directors 

President

Jen Farley, ACC is a Professional Life Coach, Performer, Speaker and a friend.  As a Rockstar Life Coach, Jen wants to help dreamers and seekers find and define their authentic voice to become the Rockstar in their lives.  She has created Coach Jen Farley, a life coaching company, which hosts one on one, group coaching and live guest discussions on how you can ignite the light within you. Jen earned her Professional Life Coaching Certificate from UW-Madison and Career Coach Certification (CPCC) with the the Professional Resume Writers and Career Coach Association.. She is also a member of the power-trio, Gin, Chocolate and Bottle Rockets, performing all over Wisconsin for the past seven years. The group has also created motivational speaking presentations while blending three-part harmonies with original music.

Past President

Katie Drescher, MCC is an ICF Certified Coach in Middleton, WI focused on helping individuals and organizations navigate change to discover and achieve what is important to them. Katie enjoys working with both emerging leaders and executives who are ready to enhance performance and increase impact through individual and team development. She supports professionals in a wide range of industries from tech to the creative arts, entrepreneurs to executives in multinational organizations.  Katie holds an undergraduate degree in Art History from Lawrence University, a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, a Professional Coaching Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Certificate in Positive Psychology from University of Pennsylvania.  Katie is a married, mother of two young adult sons, educator, researcher, lawyer, artist, sandhill crane enthusiast and creative problem solver.

Emily Wright is a heart-centered coach, helping guide women to their truest self, through the windows of their inner knowing, body messages, and heart wisdom. Her clients dismantle limiting beliefs and lean vulnerably, yet courageously into fully loving and embracing themselves as the amazing women they are! From that place of empowerment, they claim their future path in life with confidence, clarity, and heart.  In addition to coaching, Emily is a Clinical Acupressure practitioner and a Reiki master and practices out of Poynette, WI.  She started volunteering on the ICF-WI Education Committee in July 2020 and has loved being a part of the coaching community!

Secretary

Dr. Claire Wu is a Board-Certified Leadership and Executive coach, as well as a researcher in leadership and creativity. Claire is passionate about helping people enjoy fulfilling lives at work and at home. She focuses on self-awareness, overcoming limits, broadening perspectives, and building resilience. Claire's expertise is sought after by a diverse clientele, including faculty members, higher education administrators, physicians, and managers—particularly those facing career transitions, navigating the complexities of academia, pursuing higher education leadership roles, or striving for work/life balance, especially minority leaders.

Claire employs a broad array of evidence-based tools to support her clients on their unique journeys. Her coaching is rooted in rigorous training from the Co-Active Institute and the Case Western University Executive Coaching Program. Claire also serves on the Board of Directors of ICF Wisconsin and is an affiliated LEAD coach at Case Western University.

In addition to her coaching work, Claire is an Associate Professor of Management (PhD, SHRM-CP) at the University of Wisconsin Parkside, where she was honored with the distinguished Early Career Excellence Award as the sole campus-wide recipient, leading to her early tenure. Claire has taught MBA-level leadership skills courses and HR training to over 2,000 managers and professionals.

What sets Claire apart as a coach is her personal journey, which has equipped her to empathize with a wide range of challenges. From growing up with a mother grappling with severe mental illness to navigating life as an immigrant and a first-generation college student, Claire leverages her own life lessons and compassion to connect with and support her clients .Outside of her professional pursuits, Claire finds fulfillment in her role as a wife and a mother. She and her husband, along with their son, Adam, call Wisconsin home, where they embrace life's joys and adventures together.


Membership Chair

Lisa Thompson, PCC, is a UW-Madison Certified Professional Coach program graduate. She started Guiderail Coaching & Consulting, a private executive coaching practice specializing in career strategy for ambitious professionals, in 2020. She is a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) through the American Society for Quality (ASQ), holds an MBA from UW-Milwaukee, and is currently working to complete a Master's of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Lisa has been a member of the Membership Committee since Summer 2022 and maintains state-level leadership roles in two additional nonprofit organizations. 

Outreach/Partnerships Chair

Mary Big Mountain grew up on a Wisconsin farm and is happy to be home back in her home state! Determined to see the world, she joined the Air Force where she graduated top of her class academically from pilot training and became a diplomat for the Air Force recently returning from Poland. Currently, she’s teaching applied leadership for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University at the Master’s level and working to build positive youth programs and community in northern Wisconsin.

Professional Development Chair

Laura Roeven has a deep passion for effecting meaningful change in the lives of others.  She is a PCC credential holder, a trained Relationship Coaching Specialist (RCS) thru the Institute for Life Coach Training, and holds a Conscious Business Coach certificate through BetterUp Coaching.  Her coaching is informed by years of mindfulness training and is thankful to keep learning via the Wisconsin ICF educational events. Laura is proud to be the executive director of Eyes of Hope, Stoughton, Inc. which supports youth programs in Stoughton by amplifying their voices for her community and beyond. It is in working with youth that she feels most inspired for our planet’s future and resilience.  Play time includes camping, poetry, and savory cooking with her husband and 3 grown children.

Matt Ley has been a certified ICF coach for three years and sees this as a continuation of the work he has been doing throughout is circuitous career. He has spent time as a software engineer, communications officer for Lutheran Disaster Response, supporting social justice work in Israel-Palestine, as a pastor, managing supply chain and operations for a global medical supply company, and most recently as a consultant helping growing organizations manage change. Through it all the same desire to be present with people and lead with curiosity as he partners with them to identify and take action on their goals has been his greatest joy. He is also the author of the book “Manage Your Gaps: Reclaiming the Awesomeness of Management”. If he’s not consulting or coaching, you can find him deep in thought listening to a book on a bike packing trip or annoying his three kids with all of those curiosity-borne questions.

Jay Winston is a people-first and data-informed scholar-practitioner, coach, consultant, and
masterful facilitator. As the Founder & Managing Principal of J. Winston Coaching &
Consulting LLC, Jay embodies a strong passion for holistic development of individuals, teams,
and organizations that prioritize inclusion, well-being, and drive performance. Her primary
engagement has been in healthcare, education, and government, where she works as an
organizational leader and educator.

Jay has excelled throughout her career in her primary appointments of strategizing,
designing, delivering, and evaluating organizational initiatives that drive talent
development, increase leadership capabilities, develop healthy cultures, and accelerate
organizational success. Jay understands more than ever, in our fast-paced world, it's time to
rethink how we lead. The future of leadership and coaching is all about putting people first
and Leading with Humanity.

In addition to being a solopreneur, Jay is a public servant for the City of Madison Human
Resources Organizational Development Division as the Leadership Development Specialist.
In this capacity, Jay works with key stakeholders to increase organizational health and
effectiveness. Her goal is to provide support to 32 agencies and over 3000 staff in
developing a healthy, high-performing, self-renewing organization that leads and manages
change.
